Christmas Toys

Share

Christmas 1989 was special because hundreds of people in Southern California helped to make it so. Just a week before Christmas we realized that without extra help we wouldn’t have enough toys for children in need on Christmas day. Some 10,000 toys still needed to be collected to reach our goal of 60,000.

But when we put out the word, the people responded. First just a few, and then hundreds; individuals, corporations, retailers, TV and radio stations. The people of Southern California were determined that no child would go without a toy on Christmas morning. And we received the toys in time to help make Christmas brighter for many children in Southern California.

In fact, with the hundreds of extra hands we had this season we were able to serve more than 15,000 Christmas dinners, distribute 30,000 food baskets and 65,000 toys. And thanks to the people of Southern California we will be able to continue feeding the hungry, housing the homeless and meeting other needs in 1990.

Thanks, Southern California! We pray we are worthy of your support. May God bless you.
