OLYMPIC LEAGUE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Poor Shooting Sinks Orange Lutheran, 60-56

Orange Lutheran High School shot 28% from the field in a 60-56 loss to Brethren in an Olympic League basketball game Friday night at Brethren.

Daryl Cole had 24 points for Orange Lutheran (7-6 overall, 1-1 in league). Todd Mitchell had 24 for Brethren (9-2, 2-0).

Whittier Christian 73, Capistrano Valley Christian 53--Ruben Oronoz had 21 points and Brian Uribe had 18 to lead visiting Whittier Christian. Jason Rodarmel had 18 points, Israel Hogue 15 and Chris Elliott 11 for Capistrano Valley Christian (7-4, 1-1).

Valley Christian 58, Santa Margarita 57 (OT)--Sam Sybesma hit a 17-foot shot with five seconds left in overtime to give visiting Valley Christian (1-1) the victory.

Sybesma led all scorers with 26 points. Dan Bathey scored 23 points for Santa Margarita (4-8, 0-2).
