U.S. Attorney Who Prosecuted Officials Quits

U.S. Atty. Robert L. Barr Jr., who prosecuted former U.S. Rep. Pat Swindall and other public officials, announced Friday that he is resigning to become president of a conservative public-interest law firm.

Barr, whose resignation is effective Feb. 1, will run the Atlanta-based Southeastern Legal Foundation.
