NAMES IN THE NEWS : Alarm Routs Brooke Shields
From Times Staff and Wire Service Reports
CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
When a fire alarm went off at one of Charlotte’s fanciest restaurants, actress Brooke Shields joined other patrons outside in the rain until it proved to be a false alarm.
Once it had been determined the alarm had been set off by a coffee maker, Shields returned in bright spirits.
“I love trauma,” she said. “I feel closer to you all. We’ve bonded.”
Shields was in town to promote a line of curling irons, hair dryers and other products bearing her name.
