U.S. Memories to Make Announcement: Amid growing signs that the proposed chip-making cooperative has not attracted sufficient industry support, organizers of the venture have called a press conference Monday morning. Although speculation was rife that the venture would be folded, no details were available. Since its unveiling in June, the venture has not attracted a single new investor beyond its initial seven backers.
