A bus was struck by a train at a railroad crossing in Leon, Mexico, and at least 33 people on the bus were killed, officials said. Jose Luis Quintero, a local Red Cross official, said 59 were aboard the bus, which has a capacity of only 45. He said the driver of the overloaded bus, who was killed, was racing the train to the crossing when hit. “The collision drove the bus some 80 to 100 yards down the track,” Quintero said. “The passengers were tangled in the wreckage.”
