Frederick’s of Hollywood Inc.: The specialty apparel and lingerie firm reported first-quarter profit of $407,000, up 171% from the same period in 1988. Sales advanced 24% to $21.6 million. The firm credited enhancements in its merchandise mix. Frederick’s of Hollywood’s 163 stores in 35 states averaged a 15% increase in sales. The company also operates a mail-order division.
