Davis May Make New UAL Bid: Financier Marvin Davis plans soon to make a new bid for UAL Corp. the parent of United Airlines, according to Business Week. The magazine said the offer would be for about $5.6 billion, much lower than the $6.75-billion bid by management and UAL pilots that fell apart last October.
