Santa Claus, in the form of the State Board of Equalization, paid a visit to county cities in December, leaving $29.1 million in sales and use tax revenues.

The single largest allocation, $3.86 million, went to Anaheim--13% of the total amount sent to the cities. Although Tustin received the 10th largest amount, its $33.38 was easily the highest per capita among the cities. Villa Park, as usual, received the smallest total allocation, but Seal Beach had the lowest per capita amount, $3.49.

The $29.1 million sent to Orange County was higher than the comparable figures for Riverside, San Diego and San Bernardino Counties, but only about one-third of the Los Angeles County allocation.
