Share

A Golden League soccer match between Palmdale High and host Antelope Valley was suspended Friday night with 10 minutes remaining when a fight erupted between Palmdale’s Robert Rossil and Antelope Valley’s Pablo Hernandez, according to Palmdale Coach Juan Paolo.

Paolo and game and school officials will view videotapes of the match today to determine who was at fault in the altercation, the second this school year involving a Palmdale team.

On Oct. 13, a football game between Palmdale and Saugus was stopped midway through the fourth quarter when Palmdale safety Darius Wilson attacked a game official.

Antelope Valley led, 2-1, Friday before referee Carlos Cerda ordered the match stopped.

Cerda declared the match “no contest,” Paolo said, and the records of Antelope Valley (4-1-1, 2-1-1 in league play) and Palmdale (2-4-7, 1-1-2) remained unchanged.
