PET STORES

As a serious breeder and exhibitor of purebred dogs, I was disappointed that you offered no acceptable alternative for the buying public. Because serious breeders have as their goal the improvement of their breeds, they will select from their own carefully planned litters only the most exemplary specimens and will release the others as pets at prices far below those ever gracing the pet shop window. They should be willing and able to talk to buyers openly and honestly about the problems in their breed--genetic, temperament and so forth. And the buyer should not be offended if a breeder declines their offer to buy. It is important that not only the breed but the specific puppy be suited to its new family. An experienced breeder can help to make sure the “fit” is right. Breeders want their pups in good homes where they can enjoy a healthy life and bring joy to a family.
