SIDELINES : Chargers Get Redskins Scout

Washington Redskins scout Bill Devaney has joined his former boss Bobby Beathard in becoming the new head of player personnel for the San Diego Chargers, it was announced today. The Redskins released Devaney from his contract after seven years as a college scout. He will replace the fired Chet Franklin as the overseer of San Diego’s scouting corps.
