NAMES IN THE NEWS : Clower Brings Opry to Opera

NASHVILLE — Grand Ole Opry humorist Jerry Clower will appear briefly Feb. 3 in the Mississippi Opera’s “Die Fledermaus” in Jackson, his agent said Tuesday.
Clower will have a walk-on, non-singing role in the opera, agent Tandy Rice said.
“I’ve done a lot of shows in my life, but I am thrilled to perform with the Mississippi Opera,” Clower said. “It’s high time to put a little of the Opry into the opera.”
