Recycling Takes Big Load Off Dumps
Two recently completed recycling projects diverted about 90 tons of potential refuse from overloaded dumps.
In Irvine, Dewey’s Rubbish Service collected and shredded more than 75 tons of Christmas trees. The mulch will be used by the city’s landscaping departments.
In Costa Mesa’s first annual Telephone Book Recycling Program, sponsored by the city, the Costa Mesa Sanitary District and Orange Coast College Recycling Center, 15 tons of directories were collected for recycling.
