Walnut Valley Superintendent to Retire

The superintendent of the Walnut Valley Unified School District announced he will retire Dec. 31.
David L. Brown has headed the Walnut school district since 1972. During his tenure, the district grew from 5,000 to 12,000 students.
The board of trustees said it will begin a search for Brown’s replacement this spring.
