Officials to Protest Warning Label Law: A summit of music industry officials is scheduled to converge in Harrisburg, Pa., on Tuesday in an effort to halt pending state legislation that would require records with explicit lyrics to carry warning labels. The bill, recently passed by the Pennsylvania House, would subject retailers found guilty of selling an objectionable record without the sticker to fines up to $300 and 90 days in jail. Representatives from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the Recording Industry Assn. of America and the National Assn. of Recording Merchandisers will join local manufacturers, retailers and recording artists in hopes of persuading members of the rules and executive nomination committee to kill the measure before it reaches the state Senate floor.
