IBM, Motorola Plan Joint Venture: International Business Machines and Motorola Inc. are setting up a joint service that will allow users to communicate by radio waves, a report said. The venture, to be officially announced today by the firms, is aimed at developing a service for consumers needing to use computers at remote locations, the Wall Street Journal reported. Subscribers will use hand-held computers produced by Motorola allowing users to communicate through an existing network of radio towers built by IBM.
