BICENTENNIAL: No one expected Kennedy High School’s basketball team to lose, but it still was a big win for coach John Mayberry. . . . A well-loved fixture at the school since it opened in La Palma in 1964, Mayberry has coached the varsity since 1977, and Monday’s 82-55 win over La Quinta High School (C7) was his 200th (against 110 losses). . . . As usual, Mayberry wore his garish game outfit (above)--green and gold, the school colors, down to the green shoes and watch.
