Seagate Technology Inc.: Second-quarter profit more than quadrupled to $35.8 million on sales of $690.1 million, more than double the same period of 1988, the Scotts Valley, Calif., maker of computer hard disk drives said. The 1989 results included the operations of Imprimis Technology, which Seagate acquired Oct. 2, 1989. Goodwill and other intangibles of about $114 million were recorded from the acquisition.
