DETROIT — Chrysler Corp. said today it will shut down its St. Louis car plant in September and transfer Dodge Daytona and Chrysler LeBaron production to factories in Delaware and Michigan.
The closing will come seven months after the nation’s No. 3 auto maker cuts production of the St. Louis No. 1 plant in half Feb. 12. In all, 3,700 employees will be laid off in the two production cuts.
