Spielberg Honored by Editors: Steven Spielberg won the first “Filmmaker of the Decade” award from the American Cinema Editors Thursday. The 40-year-old organization honored Spielberg for his contribution to film during the ‘80s, and because “he deals with editors as equal contributors to the creative process,” according to ACE president George Grenville. Spielberg will receive the award and deliver the keynote speech March 24 during the 40th annual ACE “Eddie” Awards at the Beverly Hilton.
