For TV Fan, Stray Bullet Steals Show
Roy Lee Snelling Sr. was watching the TV program “Rescue 911” when a bullet crashed through a window, an interior wall and his chair and struck him in the back.
Moments later, his wife was calling 911.
“I was standing right beside him doing some ironing when we heard a shot. My husband grabbed his chest and said, ‘I’ve been shot.’ I thought he was kidding at first, then I saw the blood,” said his wife, Rosa Lee Snelling.
Snelling was reported in stable condition Thursday at Humana Hospital in nearby Orange Park. Police said the bullet may have been fired by someone who was shooting at a road sign.
