Webster to Miss Two Weeks Because of Inner Ear Problem

Share

Coach Tom Webster of the Kings will be taking a two-week leave of absence from the team because of a problem with his inner ear, the team said Monday.

Webster has been suffering from lightheadedness and headaches for nearly two weeks, and has been watching more of his team’s games on television in the clubhouse than from behind the bench.

At first, it was thought that Webster, 40, was merely suffering from the virus that has affected other members of the team, particularly goalie Kelly Hrudey and defenseman Larry Robinson.

But Webster also suffered a mild concussion Jan. 12 when he fell in the shower in his Edmonton hotel room.

In his absence, the club will be run by assistant coaches Cap Raeder and Rick Wilson.
