Two Gunmen Rob Westminster Credit Union of $59,000
Two armed robbers stole $59,000 Tuesday after bursting into a Westminster branch of the Orange County Federal Credit Union and forcing the manager to turn over all the cash in the vault, police said.
The robbery occurred shortly after 10 a.m. when the gunmen entered the credit union in the 7900 block of Westminster Boulevard and pointed pistols at the employees, Sgt. Jack Davidson said.
“They told the employees to stay down (on the floor). One suspect took the manager to the back of the vault and asked her for all the money,” Davidson said.
There were no injuries and no shots were fired, he added.
The bandits escaped in a stolen black Pontiac that was later abandoned about a mile from the credit union.
Davidson said the FBI and Westminster police are investigating the robbery.
