For people who work at Elvis Presley’s house, a new half-hour TV series on the singer is best seen from the seat of a ’57 Chevy.

“This rolls it all back decades before the first jelly doughnut joke, before he was elevated to a god,” said Todd Morgan, a spokesman for Presley’s former Memphis residence, Graceland.

Morgan and about 50 other Graceland workers watched the first episode of the ABC-TV series Tuesday at a replica of a drive-in movie set up in a museum featuring Presley’s former cars and motorcycles.

The TV series, “Elvis,” focuses on the years while Presley was breaking into the entertainment business.
