Britain Helps Romania

LONDON —
Britain said Wednesday that it is sending a million disposable syringes to Romania to help prevent the spread of AIDS. Romanian doctors have appealed for Western help to contain an AIDS epidemic among children in hospitals and orphanages. Hundreds of the children have been infected by blood transfusions or contaminated needles.
