An Islamic leader castigated the United States and Soviet Union for the influx of Soviet Jews into the Israeli-occupied territories as they gathered in Jidda, Saudi Arabia to mark the 20th anniversary of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. “The Jewish influx emanates from the Soviet Union and flows under the banner of human rights to settle in the land of their choice by dint of the new immigration laws in the United States and Europe,” Kuwait’s emir, Sheik Jabbar al Ahmed al Sabah, said in a speech. Israel has said it expects 300,000 Soviet Jews to settle in the Jewish state in the next five years.
