WORLD IN BRIEF : LEBANON : Christians Stream From Capital; 3 Die

Thousands of Christians, fearing another eruption of inter-communal warfare, streamed out of East Beirut as rival armies reinforced their positions north and northeast of the capital. Three civilians were killed as sporadic battles punctuated a shaky cease-fire that halted 10 days of inter-Christian skirmishes between Maj. Gen. Michel Aoun’s troops and the Lebanese Forces militia of Samir Geagea.
