MIDWINTER REGATTA : O’Connor, Cameron and Forsyth Post Wins
Fred O’Connor, Ralph Cameron and Lloyd Forsyth gained victories in their classes of the Southern California Yacht Racing Assn. Midwinter Regatta Sunday at Dana Point.
California Gold, skippered by O’Connor of the Dana West Yacht Club, won the PHRF-A class. Cameron of the Dana Point Yacht Club won the PHRF Class B in his boat Raz-Ma-Daz.
Forsyth, also of Dana Point, won in the non-spinnaker class with his boat Touch ‘N’ Go.
The Balboa Yacht Club postponed for a week its portion of the Midwinter Regatta that was to be held outside of Newport Bay after the entrance to Newport Harbor was closed with booms to prevent oil from the spill off Huntington Beach from entering the harbor.

1. California Gold, Fred O’Connor (DWYC), 2. Pete Meade, Showdown, (CpBYC), 3. Seadora, Alan Broughton, (DPYC).
PHRF-B
1. Raz-Ma-Daz, Ralph Cameron, (DPYC), 2. Anticipation, Bruce Lotz, (DPYC), 3. Uff Da, Carl Groos, (OYC).
Non-Spinnaker
1. Touch ‘N’ Go, Lloyd Forsyth, (DPYC), 2. Ariel, Norm Hagen, (DPYC), 3. Roscoe Girl, Rich Armento, (DWYC).
