NATION IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : Hundreds Escort Body of Slain Rabbi

Hundreds of weeping ultra-orthodox Jews marched through Brooklyn accompanying the body of a popular rabbi killed by a robber. Rabbi Cheskel Werzberger, 58, a World War II concentration camp survivor and a leader of Brooklyn’s largest Satmar synagogue, died at Bellevue Hospital. He had been shot Thursday by a gunman who then stole the rabbi’s car to chase a courier believed to be carrying precious gems.
