DANA POINT : Water Conservation Conference on Tap

The city of Dana Point and a water conservation task force will hold a conference on “xeriscaping”--environmentally compatible landscaping--March 3 from 9 a.m. to noon at City Hall.

Ronald Brown of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California will speak about water conservation.

Brown, the senior administrative analyst for the district, will discuss water conservation inside and outside the home. Admission is free and open to the public.

A panel discussion on such topics as water reclamation, water management and landscapes requiring low water use will be held. Among the panelists will be Mike Dunbar, assistant general manager of the South Coast Water District; landscape architect Trent Hofferber, Dave Lewis, administrator for the Capistrano Bay Parks and Recreation District; and architect Lynn Muir.

Brochures, plant materials and water-saving devices will be on display.

City Hall is at 33282 Street of the Golden Lantern.
