Hyundai Recall: Hyundai Motor America has initiated a voluntary recall of about 43,600 of its Sonatas sold in the United States since the model was introduced last year. The campaign is aimed at two potential problems, the Fountain Valley-based car importer said. In some of the cars, a lever on the secondary hood latch striker can stick, allowing the hood to open while the car is moving if the primary hood latch is released or the hood is not completely closed. In other Sonatas, a spring clamp on the coolant-bypass hose must be adjusted so that it doesn’t rub on the fuel supply hose. Local Hyundai dealers will inspect and repair cars free of charge. All Sonata owners will be notified of the voluntary campaign by letter within two weeks, the company said.
