Avalanches and Floods Kill 9 in France

PARIS —
Avalanches and floods killed at least nine people in France in the last 48 hours as storms battered the country, police said Friday.
The victims died in the Alps, the central region of Cantal and eastern France, they said.
Meteorologists said a month’s worth of snow had fallen on the Alps in just three days.
