DANA POINT : City Grants $17,000 for Human Services

Four county human services agencies were granted a total of $17,000 by the City Council.
The South County Community Clinic will receive $10,000; the South Orange County Community Services Council $3,000; the Dana Point Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, jointly with the American Assn. of University Women, $2,000, and Human Options Inc. $2,000.
The San Juan Capistrano-based community clinic reported receiving 374 requests for services from Dana Point residents in the last quarter of last year.
South Orange County Community Services Council is a group of 140 member agencies that has offices in Mission Viejo and San Clemente.
The Dana Point Chamber of Commerce Education Committee, in cooperation with AAUW, will use its funds to present “When No Means No,” a play on date rape presented by Stop Gap.
Human Options has been operating the Battered Women’s Shelter of South Orange County since 1982.
