WORLD IN BRIEF : IRAQ : Hussein Denounces U.S. Presence in Gulf

Iraqi President Saddam Hussein said the United States should withdraw its naval forces from the Persian Gulf because of the reduced Soviet military threat to the region and the continuing Iran-Iraq cease-fire. Washington has insisted it will maintain its 40-year naval presence in the gulf.
