ANAHEIM : Doctor Suspended, Placed on Probation
An Anaheim doctor was suspended from his medical practice for 90 days and placed on 10 years’ probation by the state Board of Medical Quality Assurance, a board official said.
Dr. Harvey L. Dannis had pleaded guilty in September, 1987, to three federal counts of filing false workers’ compensation claims. Dannis filed the claims for three patients he never treated, Deputy Atty. Gen. Susan Fitzgerald said. Two of the patients were actually undercover federal investigators who were sent to his Anaheim office after they received tips that Dannis was filing false claims, Fitzgerald said.
A U.S. District judge fined Dannis $32,000 and placed him on four years’ probation at that time.
