Senate Panel OKs Energy Department Nominee

WASHINGTON — The Senate Energy Committee voted Wednesday to approve the nomination of John Bartlett to head the Energy Department agency overseeing development of a proposed nuclear waste repository in Nevada. The committee’s 17-0 vote in favor of Bartlett clears the way for his confirmation on the Senate floor.
