Smith Laboratories reported that net income rose by 60% to $553,000 for its first quarter ended Jan. 31, up from $345,000 from the same period last year. Revenue rose by 22% to $4.6 million, up from $3.8 million during the like period a year earlier.

Product revenues at Sutter Corp., Smith’s operating subsidiary, rose by 23% to $3.9 million, up from $3.2. million from the same period last year.
