NAMES IN THE NEWS : Tennis Fall Sidelines Governor
Gov. Buddy Roemer’s right arm is in a sling after he broke his collarbone while playing tennis.
“He was returning a shot that someone hit when he dove for the shot and fell on his shoulder,” press secretary Rusty Jabour said. The incident occurred Wednesday at the governor’s mansion.
The doctor who put Roemer in the sling said the injury will heal without surgery, according to Jabour.
“He will have use of his right arm within pain limits. The doctor also said it would be at least two months before he can think of playing tennis again,” the spokesman said.
