Senate Confirms Novello as New Surgeon General

WASHINGTON —
The Senate confirmed Thursday the nomination of Antonia Coello Novello as surgeon general of the United States, succeeding C. Everett Koop, who turned the position into a high-profile post during the Ronald Reagan Administration. Novello was approved by voice vote without debate or dissent.
