11,000 Hotel Rooms Planned for Mexico

MEXICO CITY —
Major international hotel chains are expected to build 11,000 hotel rooms this year in Mexico and 50,000 within the next five years, the financial newpaper El Financiero reported Friday.
Th newspaper said French, Japanese and Spanish chains are among the companies interested in investing in Mexico.
The expansion will enable Mexico to accommodate 10 million tourists a year by 1995. About 3 million foreign tourists currently visit Mexico annually.
