Soviet Union Ready to Join Interpol

MOSCOW —
The Soviet Union is ready to join Interpol at its next congress later this year, Interior Minister Vadim Bakatin said Friday to the official news agency Tass.
Interpol is the International Criminal Police Organization, a worldwide clearinghouse for law enforcement officials to trade information on international criminals. It particularly focuses on narcotics, smuggling, counterfeiting and forgery.
