VAN DE KAMP

The word fairness jumped off the page as I read your description of Democrat John Van de Kamp’s campaign for governor (“John Van de Kamp Pleads His Own Case,” by John Balzar, Jan.14). There is no doubt that this is his strong point.

I was one of the purchasers of General Motors’ notorious Diesel cars. GM refused to fix these lemons. That is, until Van de Kamp prepared for us a portfolio of documented evidence about their defective nature. With such proof in hand we consumers were able to combat GM and make it do the many needed repairs.

Here is one Republican who will cross over party lines in the next election.
