Message to the Cardinal: Rock singer Ozzy Osbourne, who’s been known to bite the heads off bats and pigeons, chose to send a telegram when faced with a righteous cardinal. “You are ignorant about the true meaning of my songs,” Osbourne wrote Monday to Cardinal John J. O’Connor, who in a sermon singled out the heavy-metal musician as especially satanic and said Osbourne’s “Suicide Solution” typified the songs that lead to demonic possession and even suicide. The parents of a teen-ager who killed himself while listening to the song sued Osbourne in 1986. The lawsuit later was dismissed.
