Rockwell Wins Space Station Contract: Rockwell International was awarded an $814-million contract by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration for managing operations on the future space station Freedom. Under the award, Rockwell will initially employ 200 workers at the Johnson Space Center near Houston and by 1995 reach a peak employment of 1,400. Rockwell will be responsible for such operations as astronaut crew training and planning operations aboard the orbiting laboratory.
