Phoenix Group International Inc. said Wednesday that it has reached a tentative technology licensing and marketing agreement with DCM Data Products of India.

Phoenix Group Chairman Charles W. Missler said the preliminary agreement calls for DCM to manufacture terminals and local area network products developed by Phoenix’s fledgling Netcom Research. Phoenix will market DCM’s IBM compatible personal computers and a new minicomputer based on the Intel 486 processor.

Missler said DCM was a leading company in India with revenues of about $50 million.

Phoenix Group, a collection of small technology companies based in Irvine, last year announced a contract to sell 6 million personal computers to the Soviet Union for use in its schools. But only 770 computers have been shipped so far.
