3 Suspects Sought in $20,000 Jewelry Holdup

Glendale police are searching for three men who robbed a Montrose shop of jewelry valued at more than $20,000.

The holdup occurred at 5:11 p.m. Monday when the men entered the rear door of Montrose Jewelry, 2259 Honolulu Ave.

One man pointed what appeared to be a shotgun at a saleswoman and ordered her not to move, she told police. The two other men used hammers to break the glass display cases, then emptied jewelry trays into white bags, according to the police report.

The men fled through the rear door and escaped in a black, compact car. The loss included rings and pendants adorned with diamonds, garnets and other gems.
