Henry H. Medina, Veteran Times Press Operator, Dies at 52

Henry H. Medina, a press operator at the The Times for nearly 27 years, died Tuesday after a prolonged bout with cancer.

Medina, 52, of Pico Rivera worked in The Times’ Los Angeles pressroom from 1963 until 1981, when he transferred to Costa Mesa.

“He was one of the most revered and respected pressmen The Times ever had,” said Ben Novak, pressroom superintendent in Costa Mesa. “He’s going to be missed.”

Medina is survived by his wife, Rita, and children, Henry, Michelle, Christine and Elizabeth.

A Rosary will be recited tonight at 8:30 and Mass will be said Saturday at 11 a.m., both in St. Marianne de Paredes Church, 7922 S. Passons Blvd., Pico Rivera.
