WORLD IN BRIEF : LIBYA : Chemical Weapons Plant Again Denied

Libya again denied that it is producing chemical weapons and said it is ready to take part in international initiatives against chemical warfare, Tripoli Radio reported. The White House on Wednesday accused Libya of making chemical weapons at a plant at Rabta, 50 miles south of Tripoli, and did not rule out military action against it. West German security sources said the plant has produced up to 50 metric tons of lethal mustard gas since mid-1989.
