A boy clinging to life in a Manhattan hospital with burns over half his body got a boost to his spirits as well-wishers sent messages to him from around the country. David Aupont, who turned 12 years old one day after a 13-year-old boy allegedly tied him up and set him on fire, was excited about a letter from the Guardian Angels offering to walk him to school when he gets out of the hospital. The Vietnam Veterans of America also offered to donate skin from its skin bank, a hospital spokeswoman said.
